Babymoon in Vegas

Yep, you read that right....................we had a "Babymoon in Vegas!"  Can you believe I went to sin city at 8 months pregnant?!!  It was a little weird, but it was fun.  Chris had business at Nellis AFB so we decided I would tag along for our last trip before our bundle of joy is born.

Our first meal in Vegas was at Gordon Ramsey's Pub & Grill.  We are huge fans of Gordon and it was so fun to eat in one of his restaurants.  It was actually inside the famous Caesar's Palace.  The service was great and my favorite part of the meal was the dessert.  It was a spice sponge cake with ice cream and caramel sauce YUM!!!

Vegas was fun but not my kind of place.  Definitely not a good place to be when you're 8 months pregnant and not feeling great.  Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Gardens inside the Bellagio (my favorite and most beautiful casino)

Chris took this picture while I was resting and waiting for the gondola ride at the Venetian.  This was the one thing I really wanted to do while we were there.

The volcano show at the Mirage

At the Luxor

We didn't gamble much but when we did, this is what we ended up with!
Our last day there we went to see the "Pawn Stars" pawn shop.  We watch that show all the time so it was really cool to get to go inside and see it in person.  None of the guys were there but it was still fun!

We had just seen the episode where Rick bought this cigar box that sat on JFK's desk in the oval office.  It was being sold for $125,000.00!!!

All in all it was a fun trip.  It was harder on me than I thought it would be and honestly I was never so happy to get home!  Someday we'll tell Chloe that she was in Vegas just a month before she was born!

Baby Shower #2

I have been a very bad blogger lately!  I'm going to try to catch up and that means going back a bit.  In February, Chris' family gave us a baby shower.  It was wonderful and everyone was so generous!  Miss Chloe not only has tons of people who love her, she now has enough clothes that she'll be able to wear something new (4 or 5 times a day) for at least the first 6 months!!

Chloe and I felt so special!

We had games, a cookout, everything!  It was so much fun!!!

The happy parents to be!!!

Here's a picture of all the clothes!  I counted 91 outf1its!  And believe it or not there was not one duplicate!!

Here's the carseat and stroller combo that Mom & Dad got for us.  I love it!  Chris even practiced with a baby doll - lol!!

Thank you so much, Vicki & Teresa!  I love you both so much!!

Stay tuned for more updates coming soon.  We have some more exciting news to share and I can't wait to tell you all!!

28 Weeks & 4D Ultrasound

Wow, 28 weeks and I look huge in this picture!  I've been a little worried that I have been "growing" much.  Eating is getting harder and harder.  Acid reflux is killing me and everything gives it to me.  I'm not sleeping much and feel tired all the time.  It's a small price to pay for this little miracle named Chloe.

Saturday we went for our 2nd 4D ultrasound.  We were so excited to see our little girl and how much she has changed since December.  She didn't cooperate as much as we had hoped.  In fact she had both feet, hands and even the umbilical cord in her face most of the time.  We were able to get some cute pictures of her face and see her stick her tongue out.  She has the most beautiful little nose and lips.  It's still the most amazing thing to be able to see her and what she's doing.  We are so excited for May to get here!!

I'm so grateful for this precious little girl.  Chris and I are so blessed!

26 Weeks

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!

Well, here we are at 26 weeks.  Chloe is a very busy girl most of the time!  Our favorite time of day is when we go to bed and we lay there and watch her put on a show.  She totally knows her daddy's voice and responds to him talking to her.

The past couple of weeks have been a little stressful.  I was at work on a Wednesday and discovered a small amount of spotting while in the restroom.  I called the doctor and they saw us first thing the next morning.  He did an exam and said everything looked fine, but I would have an ultrasound the following week just to be sure.

Then the following Monday, Chris came to work to pick me up and we were walking out of the office when my heel slipped and I fell.  I caught myself on one knee and a hand.  It scared us both to death, but I didn't hurt or have any problems, at least not until the next day................Tuesday at work I noticed some "leaking" when I used the restroom.  It didn't appear to be urine and got worse throughout the afternoon.  I call the doctor again and they had us go directly to labor and delivery at the hospital to be tested for amniotic fluid.  Needless to say, we got a sneak peek at where we'll have the baby and got to listen to her heart beat for 4 hours that evening.  It turned out that everything was ok and the leaking was just normal vaginal leakage.  It was such an emotional week and a half for me.  I'm so thankful that I can be at home the last 3 months of this pregnancy and take it easy.  I just want to deliver a happy, healthy little girl in May.

We have our second 4D ultrasound scheduled for March 2nd, so be sure to look for new pictures of our beautiful Chloe.  I can't wait to see how much she's grown.

Not a very good side view, but believe me, I'm growing :)

And just because Chris loves this one!!

Baby Shower

This past Tuesday, February 12th.  My very best friend Cindy organized a baby shower at work for me.  I have to say, I was very humbled by all the love that was shown for me and the baby.

Cindy had that beautiful wreath made for me.  It has all kinds of things attached to it, including pacifiers, butterflies and Chloe's name.  I was told that I'm suppose to take this to the hospital and hang it on the door when Chloe is born.  I can just see Chris carrying that into labor and delivery :)

Co-workers and residents alike came to wish us the best and show their love for our little girl.

Chris surprised me by showing up just in time to help open gifts.  It was wonderful to have him there.  We have never been happier!!!

We got so many nice gifts!

This is one of my favorite things!  Jan from HR gave this to me.  I can't wait to have pictures of Miss Chloe in this frilly little outfit!

I continued to receive wonderful, thoughtful gifts the rest of the week.  Then Friday was my day to say good bye.  It was officially my last day at Broadway Plaza.  It was such a bittersweet day.  I'm going to miss my friends and all the residents.  It's not good bye for good.  Everyone there is like family to me.  I'll be visiting often and Broadway Plaza will probably be Chloe's first outing!

I want to say thank you to everyone that made my shower special and especially to Cindy.  She is the best friend anyone could ever want.  I love her so much!!!

Chloe's Nursery

Here it is, Chloe's nursery is finished!!!

We're so excited to unveil our little girls room!  It has been such a fun project and the results are exactly what I was hoping for.  Hope you like it!

I am so proud of this room!  I'm also very happy to have it done and ready for our little girl.  My energy level is starting to fade quickly.  This room has been a total labor of love.  I had so many ideas when I found out we were having a girl and I'm proud to say that all my visions have come together.  I have to say a big thank you to my hubby for doing all the manual labor and for putting up with my ideas.  It truely is a room made for a princess!

The crib, changing table, and glider rocker all came from Target.  The little wicker table was a flea market find that I've had for a while and the dresser actually came from Big Lots and I've also had that for a while.

I love the flowers and lanterns hanging in the corner.  They came from Hobby Lobby and Michaels.  The picture came from Hobby Lobby as well.  The frame was originally an antique white, so Chris spray painted it white to match everything else in the room.

I made the cover for the changing table pad out of the same minky fabric that I made the crib sheet.  I even put a zipper in it so it can be taken off and washed.  The baskets are full of diapers, whipes, lotion, powder, bath wash, even some towels and wash clothes.

A close up of the crib skirt.

I made the entire bedding set.  Oops, I just noticed I put the end bumper pad the wrong way.  I'll have to fix that :)
I love her monogram at the head of the crib and the ruffled skirt was made a lot easier with the assistance of my new ruffler foot for my sewing machine.  Her blanket is simply swirled, minky fabric that I bound with white, satin quilt binding.

I made the curtains and the rods came from Wal-Mart.  The white butterflies were a Target find!

I bought the CHLOE letters at Hobby Lobby and just painted them and stuck them to the wall with glue dots.

I found the idea for the mobile on Pinterest and I'm so happy with the way it turned out.  It was A LOT of work.  I used a butterfly paper punch to make the pink and vellum butterflies.  It took a long time to get all the ribbon and tulle tied to the wreath frame, but as long as this took it was so worth it!!!

I also made the pillow, I used the same fabric in the curtains.  I think it turned out beautiful.

I bought this little lamp at Hobby Lobby, but didn't like the shade.  I cut out hundreds (no lie) of circles and hot glued them to make them look like rosettes.  I love the way this turned out.

Here is baby girls closet.  I think she's got a good start on her wardrobe!

Are those not the cutest shoes you've ever seen?!!!

So far we have 2 drawers pretty full!

She's ready for some Rangers Baseball!

These are the personalized burp clothes I've made.  It's a wonderful thing to sew and have an embroidery machine!

So there it is, Chloe's beautiful nursery.  All we need now is our sweet little girl.  We can't wait!!!
